 Irene is a practitioner of Oriental medicine (Traditional Chinese, Korean and Japanese ) and modern western complementary systems. For the last 10 years she has studied in both the UK and China and believes ‘real’ holistic medicine is based on being able to diagnose and treat on all three levels - mind, body and spirit. Her wealth of clinical experience has also enabled her to become a training provider.
 Since beginning her practice in January 2001 she continues to develop her skills and knowledge, attending numerous training courses, workshops and seminars.

Oriental Body Balance has an inimitable assessment and evaluation system that views the body from a number of different angles. As the body is an holistic interconnected system the assessment includes muscles, bone structure, internal organs, energy, food sensitivity, blood, lymph, psychology etc..

Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) Code Legalities
As from 1st March 2011, all marketing communications e.g. websites, leaflets etc. are regulated by the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA). We are now heavily restricted in what conditions we can say we “can help with”, and only that we “might help with”. We are no longer able to refer to anything that is a medical condition, for example, diabetes is classed as a medical condition but must be referred to as “blood sugar disorder”.
Having said that, the field in which I work is holistic and we do not use labels, rather imbalances and syndromes as it is believed that illness and disease are multi-faceted and whilst the major symptom experienced by several people may be similar the underlying cause(s) may well be very different, requiring different treatment.
Although I have been working with complementary therapies since 2000, I can no longer say I have “experience” in certain fields. In order for me to claim this I am required to find 20 or more clients with a particular disorder and then fully document this as a signed testimonial. This is a very time consuming process which will take far longer than doing the treatments themselves. However, whilst it is something I endeavour to pursue I am trusting on my current status whereby most of my new business is by way of referral or that potential new clients viewing my website will look beyond the restrictions now placed on me and will contact me to discuss what I may or may not be able to help them with.
